Lucky People

Author : mitchbillings, Posted on: 13.11.2008

Hello,

This will be my first BLOG ever. I don\’t know if there is a right or wrong way to write a Blog, but here goes anyway.

I just wanted to pose a question to the deep thinkers on the existence or non-existence of luck.

If there is such a cosmic fatuistic phenomenon, then is one person given more luck then another.

To even further convolute the issue, does the person granted the luck have more luck just by recieving said luck in the first place.

But I digress,

In a system that is said to always be in balance, does it not seem contradictory to claim the existance of luck.

Example : For one person to have say, tripple the luck as another person, would\’nt i,t if left unchecked  wreck the whole system, and the math even grows exponentially . Say a person just has double the good luck as another person but  three times as often. You can begin to see my point.

I dont want to bore you with mathmatic equations or rambling theory.

However, I do know this much, I personally have wittnessed some really long streaks of bad luck, and I dont mean poor choices resaulting in a bad outcome. I mean downright egregious BAD LUCK. I have seen runs of cards in which in 67 straight hands of no limit holdem, not one was a winner. Now, I wont go into what cards should  or should not have been folded. Lets just say that all hands folded or played , according to the hand history every hand was an eventual looser to the winning hand. \”I am not making this up.\”

If luck is such a factor, Is there truly any way to change such a seemingly uncontrollable force?

If so how?
